SPEAKER BIO

I, Kohshin Washiyama, received B.Sc. in 1997 M.Sc. in 1999 from Kanazawa University while studying the mechanism of photonuclear fragmentation under the guidance of Professor Koh SAKAMOTO. I worked as an assistant professor at Kanazawa University from 1999 to 2017. I worked to make and apply isotopes for medical use, especially alpha emitters while obtaining a Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Ryohei AMANO in 2005. During this time, I have been a visiting researcher at the Department of Radiation Physics, Sahlgrenska Academy of the University of Gothenburg (Sweden), a visiting associate professor at Duke University Medical Center (USA), and a member of the Expert Committee on Production and Utilization of Radioisotopes for Medical Use, Atomic Energy Commission, Cabinet Office, the government of Japan. I also serve as a member of Japan’s IAEA/RCA National Response Committee. I was one of the organizers of the 10th International Symposium on Targeted Alpha Therapy (TAT-10), which was held in Kanazawa, Japan, in 2017, and keep working as a member of the science committee of the following TAT’11 (Ottawa) and TAT’12 (Cape Town).
